A family came to the rescue to give a kitten the wish it was waiting for. A tiny black kitten was brought to a shelter in Quebec, Canada a few weeks ago. He was alone and needed help.
At the vet, they discovered that the kitten had a serious heart condition. They did not have the resources to care for him, but the volunteers refused to give up. They contacted Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a Montreal rescue group, and asked for help.
“A volunteer drove two and a half hours to transport the kitten to us. He had a team of people rooted for him,” explained Céline Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal. The kitten, which they called Chouk, was very small, but what he lacked in size, he made up for with his personality.
“He purred throughout his first visit to the vet.”The kitten has been seen by a specialist to help determine the stage of his heart condition.”He has severe heart failure and a shorter life expectancy – from a few months to a few years,” said Céline.
“The kitten will receive medicine for the rest of its life every day to help its heart.”Despite everything, Chouk is as gentle as possible. He is always in a good mood and just wants to be loved.
“He quickly adapted to life with his host family. He is a purring little one and constantly asks for hugs and attention. Chouk loves everyone, humans, and animals.”The rescue shared her story online, hoping to find a special family who would love her unconditionally and meet all of her needs.
A family came across her message on Facebook and fell in love. They organized a meeting around Christmas – it was love at first sight. Chouk snuggled against them and purred a storm as if he knew he had found his humans forever.
Even though his life could be shorter due to his heart disease, it did not deter the family. They adopted it that day and renamed it Noël (Noël in French) because it was their little Christmas miracle.
“At three months, the kitten found the perfect house he was waiting for,” said Céline.”His future is in good hands and we are very happy for him.”
